Online advertising has become such a popular placement for businesses to sell and promote their products to their audience, that it is becoming more difficult to stand out from the crowd.

48% of brands are on Instagram, and is predicted to rise to 70.7%. That is a whole lot of competition if you ask us.

However, over a third of Instagram users have used their mobile to purchase a product online, meaning there is a lot more opportunity to reach your target market and successfully sell your products.

So how can you make sure you stay relevant and unique?

Instagram Stories Advertising

Instagram has released an update to their platform that enables selected brands to use new shopping tags within Instagram stories.

We already know that everyone and their dog loves to upload that cool ‘Instagram-worthy’ café that they ate at, so being able to reach your target audience on this placement is significant to the world of online advertising.

It has even been predicted at the recent F8 developer conference that the growth of Instagram stories is on track to overtake the newsfeed as the primary social sharing option this year.

Instagram Posts with Product Tagging

This Instagram Stories update has come from the original product tagging feature within Newsfeed posts that launched in late 2016.

This simple, yet extremely effective feature allows you to tag any products featured in your image, enabling users to find out more information about it straight away within the app. This then allows the user to click-through to your website where they can make a purchase.

This is a very quick, efficient and FREE way to promote your products to your social media audience. All you have to do is upload your product catalogue to Facebook and you can tag away!

Purchases within Messenger Bots

By now you have probably seen the buzz about Messenger Bots floating around. The leading platform, ManyChat, is our personal favourite. You can create automated message flows for your users to respond to frequently asked questions, send them content or even sell to them (within reason – there are some rules around this), and much, much more.

If you haven’t already got one of these bad boys on your website or just in your Messenger platform, you’re missing out.

It not only means that you don’t have to respond to every single common question you get asked, but you can also start having one-on-one conversations with your consumers to create a more personal experience for the user.

Well, it now gets even better…I know, HOW?!

ManyChat has rolled out a new feature to their platform that allows you to have in-app purchases. This basically means that someone can physically enter their credit card details and purchase one of your products all within the messenger app!

I’ll just give you a minute to let that one sink in.

This is a whole new level of interactive advertising for Facebook Messenger. With the current ability to create a Facebook ad and send users into a Messenger Bot sequence, this addition widely expands your opportunity to get quick sales.

It also opens your opportunity to become a lot more creative with the way that you sell to your consumers, we won’t give that one away though…we’ve got a few ideas up our sleeves.

So there you have it, at least three unique and effective ways you can advertise to your target market.

If this all sounds a bit overwhelming, or just a whole lot more confusing for you to handle, contact our team, we would be happy to help.
